Crockpot Pork Chops

I just want to start by saying that this is not one of those crockpot recipes that will cook all day long.  When I was teaching, I usually only made these on the weekend.  Now that I am a stay-at-home mom, I make these often!  I usually put them in the crockpot after lunch and they cook all afternoon.  These would also be great for Sunday dinner.  Just put them in when you get up in the morning and they'll be ready by lunchtime!  Because I make these fairly often, I have also found myself changing the recipe, adding in this or that!  It's a great basic crockpot pork chop recipe.  Feel free to change up the seasonings to your taste!!  The original recipe came from Allrecipes.com and you can find it here.  It had a little too much garlic for me and I also prefer using an Italian seasoning blend over basil and oregano as separate ingredients.  I just don't use the two separately that often so it's more economical for me to buy a blend.  You'll find my version below.

Start with 4 boneless pork chops.

To a measuring cup, add 1 cup chicken broth and 1/4 c. EVOO.

 Today, I used 1 TBSP minced garlic (= 2 cloves), about 1/2 T. paprika (that's all I had- normally I would use 1 T.-add that to the grocery list), a little less than 1 T. poultry seasoning, 1 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning blend, 1/2 t. salt, 1/2 t. pepper.

Add garlic and dry seasonings to the liquid and stir well.

 Pour mixture over the chops.

Cover and cook on LOW for about 4 hours.

These are so easy and delicious!!!

Dinner is served!!!

Crockpot Pork Chops
1/4 cup olive oil
1 cup chicken broth
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 T. paprika
1 T poultry seasoning
1 1/2 t. Italian seasoning blend
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
4 thick cut boneless pork chops

Place chops in crockpot.  Mix together remaining ingredients and pour over chops.  Cover and cook on low for about 4 hours.

  2. Yes, these look great! Do you think these can be done with bone-in pork chops too?

  3. Carrie- I'm not positive but I don't see why you couldn't. (I just did a quick google and did see a few sites that had recipes for chops- boneless or bone-in.)

  4. Just made them and they turned out wonderful! I put a rub on the chops and then all the ingredients in the crockpot dish (mine is removable) let it sit overnight in the fridge. Started @ 1pm and done @ 5pm. The last 30 min I threw in some fresh green beans to cook in the broth. Served everything with mash potatoes and gravy! Hubby loved them, they were tender and the beans had a nice flavor!
    Thanks for another great recipe.

  6. Hi! I'm blogging about my adventures in freezer cooking, and I wanted to let you know that I'm plugging this post! I can't wait to actually cook this meal, but I wanted to give you the credit and make sure that you knew about it. If that isn't okay, please let me know and I will remove the recipe, my experience, and the link to your blog.

    1. I'm not sure about that one. I will have to attempt that next time I make these. I still think they would be good served with rice or mashed potatoes!

    2. Hi. I made these last night. I added a bit of cornstarch water to the broth for the last half hour of cook time, and it made a perfect sauce for serving w/the chops. We had brown rice w/onion and steamed asparagus...used the thickened carrot sauce over the brown rice and chops. My husband said they tasted like "restaurant quality" chops...and there were no leftovers. Excellent recipe.

    1. I have not tried that. Not sure if you mean just using the dressing alone or in place of the oil. . .

  9. These were great. I did use bone in chops and my only complaint is that the meat fell off the bone, damn hate it when that happens (ha ha)!!! Also, I used scoot gal's tip on adding green beans the last 30min, very nice. Otherwise, all other ingredients and measurements were followed exactly. Thanks for sharing, we will be eating this lots. Great for Sundays around here too!! Thank you.

  10. My husband & I love these, but I must make a confession-I don't cook them in the crockpot. LOL...I had every intention of doing so the first time I made these, but hey-Life happened and I ended up sticking these in the fridge that evening & that's where they stayed until dinner time rolled around the next afternoon. Coincidently, that next afternoon was a GORGEOUS evening ( a.k.a. perfect day to fire up the grill). SO, I slapped these bad boys on the grill and ....OH MY WORD!!! Hands down the best pork chop I've ever tasted AND my hub gladly seconded this. From then on, every time a pork chop hits his plate, he asks- " Is this THE pork chop??" LOL

  12. Any idea what the cooking time would be with frozen pork chops?

  13. I tried your recipe-however I used elk meat, so I used beef broth instead of chicken broth, then followed your recipe. It was so good I'm so happy I found your recipe, thanks!

  14. I use the crock pot. I rub the chops with seasonings, put crock pot, spread can cream of chicken soup on top of chops then 1 envelope of dry ranch dressing mix. Right before done, I add some onion. Cook until chops are done and fall apart. Makes its own gravy. Never let me down yet.
